sjed Many of us are already familiar with the Legacy Heritage SMART Board Project through its grants program. The Foundation invited Jewish schools to apply for grants to receive interactive whiteboards and staff training.

Building on this generous opportunity, Legacy Heritage has launched the Smart Board Jewish Educational Database (SJED) .  SJED is an online resource center of curricular lessons submitted by educators in Jewish educational settings who have created materials for use with interactive white boards.  Current topics include: Chumash, Fun and Games, Halachah, Holidays, Jewish Life and Values, and lots, lots more!

Looking for addiitional resources on interactive white boards?

Be sure to check out SMART Exchange,  SMART’s own educational resource center which connects educators to each other and to content in secular subjects.

Join and explore the Interactive Whiteboard Revolution community, facilitated by Chris Betcher (@betchaboy on twitter).   Chris is the co-author with Mal Lee of the book, The Interactive Whiteboard Revolution: Teaching With IWBS.  It’s on my bookshelf; you can find sample pages on Amazon.

And don’t miss Tom Barrett’s growing collection of Interesting Ways to Use Your Interactive Whiteboard in the Classroom (and Tips).  And speaking of Tom Barrett… Tom is an amazing crowdsourcer for collecting tips and techniques from educators about their work – discover more about his work here.  Lots to learn from this educator’s educator.

Point your cursor to the SmartBoards in Jewish Education wiki which includes helpful hints on getting started and a look at how the Neve Channah school in Israel uses the Promethean whiteboard.  Peek in periodically at jlearn2.0′s whiteboard bookmarks on delicious or our whiteboard bookmarks on diigo.

Be inspired! Be a SMART educator – submit your lessons to SJED and share them with the world!
