Velcro

I think of Velcro as an analogy for how Web 2.0 works by allowing for lots of little connections. Viewed one way, it’s messy. Viewed another it’s rather beautiful. And offers the possibility of a lot of grip… (April 30, 2007)

Missing the point of twitter

Twitter isn’t a very pointy product, it’s more of a mesh of little connections (my velcro analogy again). It’s not like being poked and prodded, it’s about exposing more surface area for others to connect with. (May 5, 2007)

Twitter is an Anchovy

November 7th, 2007

I’ve come to believe that the world is divided into those who like-love anchovies and those who vehemently detest them.

There seems to be very little indifference on this subject. Maybe it’s an American thing. I don’t know. Personally, I love anchovies. But they seem to freak people out.

I think twitter is an anchovy – you either like it, you hate it, or, sometimes, it can become an acquired taste.

As for me, I’m of the acquired taste mindset these days. I’ve started following people, I have a few followers myself (mostly, I suspect, out of reciprocity, not out of any real interest). I haven’t posted much, but in the name of research, I guess I’ll take the plunge….

Pizza with that anchovy?
